Our Thanksgiving Trip
Warning: Lots of photos ahead!
The gang.We headed down south, way south to Thatcher, Arizona last week to celebrate the holiday with my dad, grandma, a couple of uncles and a few cousins. We spent all day on Tuesday driving, it took us 10 1/2 hours to get there. We stayed in a hotel there, because there was no room at my grandmas, but that was okay with my kids, because the hotel had a indoor pool! YEAH! We spent every afternoon or evening in the pool. We had a very lovely dinner at my grandma's. And had yummy leftovers later that night.
My Uncle from Seattle came down with his two little kids, my cousins, CJ-6 and Lea- 17 months. Logan and CJ had a blast together, they are only one day apart, Logan being the older. They played really well and got along good. Paige just adored Lea and followed her everywhere. I had to remind her not to hurt or get too much in Lea's face. We had a great time getting to know my little cousins. Logan was sad that they don't live closer and that he and CJ could play more.

They played really well and got along good. Paige just adored Lea and followed her everywhere. I had to remind her not to hurt or get too much in Lea's face. We had a great time getting to know my little cousins. Logan was sad that they don't live closer and that he and CJ could play more.
Feeding the ducks.We did a lot of traveling around the valley. We went to Morenci where they have a HUGE copper mine. They have a HUGE dump truck out, that you can climb on and take some photos of. It was
a hit with the kids, who had been cooped up in the car for awhile.
We had a great time with everyone and are glad that we were able to spend some time with family that we don't get to see very often.
We knew that we were not going to drive all the way home because we wanted to go and see the Petrified Forest east of Flagstaff. So we headed out of Thatcher Sat morning and drove the the Park. That was some of the neatest things that we have seen. The petrified wood was AWESOME and so cool to see up close. We wandered around the park for a couple of hours and saw some cool things.
It was a GREAT trip, one we hope to make again in the next few years!
Some fun facts: We saw two temples, they are currently building one in Thatcher called the Gila Valley Temple. How cool is that! The other one we saw in Snowflake out on the hilltop. That was neat to see. The weather was wonderful, a little windy but coming from Cedar we could handle it. We loved the portable DVD player that we purchased for the trip, it was a lifesaver!!
